quickControl is a desktop application for furniture manufacturers that use the Corpus CAD/CAM software. It started as a warehouse management system and grew into production management: stock, purchasing, quotes and sales orders, technical preparation, work orders, station scheduling, worker shifts, dispatch and complaints.
I own the entire frontend: 59 feature modules, the shared design system, Electron packaging and auto-update. The backend is a colleague's Express and Supabase service that I contribute to.
Context
- Corpus is a CAD/CAM program for board furniture. Its customers design cabinets and kitchens in it, but tracked stock, orders and production in spreadsheets and on paper. Corpus wanted one desktop application that follows a project from quote to dispatch and talks to the machines and scanners on the floor.
What I built
- 59 feature modules on one shared design system: lists, detail pages, steppers, boards and timelines that look and behave the same everywhere.
- Quotes with catalogue and free-form items, approval flow and conversion to sales orders and work orders.
- Station scheduling and worker shifts on a shared Gantt control, with load warnings per station.
- Plant layout editor in 2D and 3D (Three.js) for halls, zones and work stations.
- Shop-floor screens for tablets with barcode scanning: initial cut, board movement, picking, dispatch.
- Electron shell with frameless window, device identity, auto-update feed and a 469-page user manual with guided tours in the app.
How it works
- A project comes in from Corpus or a CSV cutting list and becomes a bill of materials, a work order and a route through the stations.
- Every board carries a label; scanning it on a tablet moves it to the next station and updates the schedule.
- Stock, purchase orders and receipts feed the warehouse, with analytics on consumption and low stock.
- Permissions gate every module per role, and the app refreshes its session without logging the worker out.
Screens
Screens show demo data.
Production at a glance: stations, work orders and load. Work orders by phase, with deadlines and missing material. Station schedule with load warnings. Quote with catalogue and free-form items. Stock with filters, movements and consumption. Plant layout editor in 3D.
Outcome
- 32 releases shipped through the auto-update feed, the latest 1.0.32.
- More than 2,500 Vitest tests on the frontend, lint with zero warnings.
- Companion apps quickControl Mobile and Tablet (Expo / React Native) with their own APK update feeds.
- Screenshots show demo data, Croatian interface.
